I am a hobbyist photographer, interested in colors of nature, love to travel and love to put my imagination to reality. The idea of making this book is to simplify the concepts for which I had struggled initially. I would also like share my experience, learning and understanding on the methods and techniques I utilized to create photographs. This book can help understand some basic concepts used for taking pictures for amateur photographers. To make things look simple, I have used some diagrams and compiled information from the internet to explain the concepts.
All the images in this book were taken with patience and respect. All of the close-ups either resulted from the subject approaching out of curiosity, or by rolling slowly towards the subject silently. Respect for the subject should be at the top of the list in every wildlife photographer’s rulebook. The photographs seen in this book involving predators are taken with calculated risks, and when I am unsure of my ground, I use skilled local guides to keep things safe.
I started taking pictures since year 2009 with a Canon Sx30is digital camera. I got my first DSLR camera in the year 2010 which was Nikon D5100 with its kit lens and a Nikkor 70-300mm VR telephoto lens, and this is when my learning started. This book will clarify the little concepts which are important to make a good picture. For almost a decade I used the very basic level camera and my telephoto lens. Most of the images you will see here are made with a entry level camera and I will introduce you all to the techniques I used to make these images.
